Moody Tongue Brewing
Founded in 2014 in Chicago by cousins Jared Rouben and Jeremy Cohn, Moody Tongue Brewing Company pioneered the concept of “culinary brewing.” Located in the South Loop, the brewery crafts beers using premium, chef-inspired ingredients—from black truffles and orange blossoms to lychee and churros—creating flavors that bridge the gap between beer and fine dining. What began as a production brewery in Pilsen has evolved into a Michelin-starred destination known as the world’s only Michelin-starred brewery.
The space blends industrial charm with sophisticated mid-century modern design, featuring a statement fireplace, creative lighting, and a historic library of brewing books. The Bar at Moody Tongue serves as both a lively tasting room and elevated restaurant, offering a welcoming yet refined atmosphere perfect for savoring thoughtfully paired experiences.
“The world’s only Michelin-starred brewery, redefining beer as a culinary art form.”
Moody Tongue stands out in the Midwest craft beer scene through its unwavering commitment to flavor innovation and food pairing. With perennial favorites and limited releases often barrel-aged or infused with unexpected ingredients, the brewery appeals to both beer enthusiasts and fine dining aficionados. Their beers are distributed across multiple states, but the full experience shines brightest at the Chicago location.
A visit to Moody Tongue is a must for anyone exploring Chicago’s craft beer scene. Whether enjoying a la carte dining at The Bar or the full tasting menu at The Dining Room, guests experience beer in an entirely new light. The thoughtful pairings, stunning space, and innovative flavors make it worth the trip for locals and travelers alike—elevating a simple beer tasting into a memorable culinary journey.
